Neighborhood Revitalization

Many of SDHFH’s new construction sites are nestled into older neighborhoods that are in need of some attention and care. Neighborhood Revitalization (NR) efforts focus on the improvement of entire communities around new Habitat construction sites, and supporting families who already own their homes. SDHFH has implemented major multi-year NR efforts in the communities of Escondido and Imperial Beach, and will continue to work in neighborhoods where it builds new houses.

We build more than just houses – we build community.

As part of Neighborhood Revitalization, SDHFH partners with other community-based organizations to help neighborhoods become stronger, more vibrant places to live. Together, we are not only addressing many complex housing challenges, we are changing the way we all think about housing and how to improve it for as many families as we can.

An array of housing solutions are offered through NR

Home repairs, weatherization, home preservation, and even wraparound family support services such as financial education referrals and home maintenance classes are all provided as a way to build stronger communities.
