According to the new “value of a volunteer” calculation, Habitat volunteers contributed the equivalent of $1.1M over the past year! Volunteers are the backbone of the Habitat mission, and we couldn’t build affordable homes without you.
As a non-profit organization, Habitat relies heavily on the support and work of volunteers. Habitat events such as Women Build and the Home Builders Blitz would not happen without volunteers. Volunteers save the organization thousands of dollars; the money that is saved goes towards buying the supplies needed to build homes for deserving families!
Volunteering does more than just benefit Habitat. It helps build a stronger community, gives people a sense of purpose, and much more. Our volunteers’ work is something that truly cannot be measured. An article in The NonProfit Times quotes the report’s authors who say, “It is very difficult to put value on volunteer time. Volunteers provide many intangibles that cannot be easily quantified.” To read the full article covering the report about the hourly value of volunteers, click here.
Volunteers are always needed, so check out our volunteer page for more information about how to join today!
